In Loving Memory of

Ivy Luscombe

26th June 1923 - 21st July 2026

Ivy Winifred Luscombe’s story starts on June 26, 1923, when she was born in Brisbane to parents John Murray Johnson and Ivy Phyllis Ward Johnson. When Ivy was nearly 23, she married her late husband, Geoffrey Walter Newton Luscombe. Ivy went on to work in many roles but for the final 20 working years was a teacher at St Catherine's School Waverley NSW. After Walter's death Ivy lived independently until January 2026 in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs when she fell ill and was later moved to a nursing home. Ivy died on July 21, 2026 at 103 years of age. Ivy's ashes will be interred at St George's Anglican Church in Gerringong near Walter and Lindy (their daughter who died at 18 months in 1951). It was in Gerringong, after retirement, Ivy and Walter built a home and enjoyed having children and their families to stay for many years. Ivy is loved by family and friends alike. She will be missed and always remembered. We encourage you to help keep her story alive by sharing a memory or reflection.
