In Loving Memory of

Adrian Berkeley

27th July 1961 - 22nd August 2026

Adrian's story starts on July 27, 1961, when he was born in Kenya to parents Miles and Nancy Berkeley. Adrian would eventually call Australia home, moving here approximately in 1966. Then when Adrian was 39, he married his wife, Merelyn. They welcomed the birth of twin sons, Samuel and Aaron two years later. Prior to that, he unofficially adopted a son and daughter, Anthony and Michelle. Adrian went on to work as a Financial Planner and made his home in Brisbane from the Gold Coast. Adrian is loved by family and friends alike for his infectious and irreverent sense of humour. He will be missed and always remembered. We encourage you to help keep his story alive by sharing a memory or reflection.

Ah Adrian! What a beautiful soul. I hadn't seen the family in years (even though we live up the road) but that was exactly how our friendship has been for 23yrs! Adrian could tell a joke with the straightest face. He had the driest sense of humour and yet he was the most humble and honest loving father and husband. My goodness did he love his boys and his wife. You could have a conversation for hours and it was always so heartfelt and so natural. He was always so helpful to everyone. A beautiful soul that will be very much remembered.

Adrian was our financial advisor who then became a dear family friend. At our yearly financial reviews we were always amazed at how easily Adrian was able to explain complex matters and especially his ability to write upside down on his notepad so that we could read what he was proposing without having the need to turn the notepad around. He was particularly proud of this ability. In addition to this he had an incredible sense of humour which he maintained through the days of his illness. You will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace dear friend.

Sending love and heart felt condolences to you Merelyn, Samuel and Aaron. I am deeply sorry to hear of Adrian's passing. May his kindness and humour continue to echo off the walls at home. May you find things mysteriously moved and know he's playing pranks and find random moments that give you tears of joy for a life well lived and loved. With deepest sympathy.

My dear cousin and sister in Christ,

May you experience God’s love and comfort in this hard times. You have served your husband and family well as you glorified God and led them to Him.

Now Adrian is with Christ.

I am sorry for you loss on this side of glory and praise God for the eternal glory Adrian enters.

I love you and your family.

Love,
Tina

Dear Merelyn, Aaron and Samuel, I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine the array of feelings you must be going through. As Adrian’s friend, I am so very grateful that he found you (Merelyn) and that he got to be a Dad to you Aaron & Samuel & he got to loved and cared for in such an exquisite and beautiful way. May you find comfort in each other, in your memories and in knowing he is at peace. Love Lindsay.

Adrian and I have been friends for 48 years. We met when I was 15 and he was 17. I remember the first time I saw him on the school bus. Together with our big group of friends we went to parties , concerts, camped, surfed & occasionally got into a bit of mischief but always had lots of fun and laughs. Over the years we drifted in and out of touch when life sometimes got in the way (work, raising kids etc) but we always took up right where we left off. In later years it became an absolute pleasure to get to know Merelyn and the boys and it was evident how very proud he was of his loving family. Although some things changed for him, he never lost his sense of humour and his enjoyment of rich, witty conversations. I shall miss him but am thankful for all I learnt from him and his friendship. Rest in peace Adrian ( Dogsy). Give my love to Dean, Darryl (Bunny) & Romeo xxx
