Angeloantonio “Tony” Chiodo was born in Italy on 2 May 1944, to parents Michel and Teresa Chiodo.
In 1956, Tony made Australia his home, beginning a new chapter that would shape the rest of his life.
At the age of 24, Tony married the love of his life, Carole, and together they built a family and a life filled with love and dedication. He was a proud father to Rodney, Marcus, Louise, and Michael. He was also a proud grandfather to Eythan, Finn, Zachary and Francesca.
Tony worked as a carpenter, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic, skill, and commitment. He made his home in Donvale, where he became a valued member of the community and formed lasting friendships.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, family member, and friend, Tony touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the memories, stories, and love he leaves behind. We invite you to help keep Tony’s story alive by sharing a memory, reflection, or message in his honour.

To beautiful Carole, family and Tony’s friends.
My heart is with you all at this incredibly difficult time. There are no words that can truly ease the loss of someone so deeply loved and respected.
May you find comfort in the love that surrounds you and the memories you hold bring you comfort in the days ahead, and may his spirit live on through each of you. ❤️
I’m so grateful to have met Tony, he was such a lovely person and a special part of my life’s journey. He will always hold a place in my heart.
It’s hard to put into words what Tony meant to me. What began as a working relationship grew into something far more special — a genuine friendship built on respect, understanding, and a quiet, lasting connection.
Some connections are never measured by time or distance, but by the depth of understanding and respect shared between two souls.
Even though life took us in different directions and we didn’t see each other often, that bond never faded. Every time we reconnected, it felt like no time had passed, a true sign of a lifelong friendship.
I will always smile when I think of our ballroom dance classes after work — the laughs, the missteps, and the joy of simply being in the moment. Those memories, plus many more are something I will treasure always.
Rest peacefully Tony, you will be deeply missed 🩵 Sandi x

Tony was far more than a maintenance officer at Arts Centre Melbourne – he was a trusted colleague and a valued friend.
Among my many memories of Tony, one that always brings a smile is my frequent frustration when he wouldn't answer his radio. At the time it could be exasperating, but looking back, it's one of those uniquely Tony moments that reminds me of his character and the countless days we worked together.
Tony's dedication, quiet presence, and friendship were woven into the fabric of our workplace. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Tony. Thank you for the memories, the friendship, and the difference you made in our lives.
Shona to Tony
