Julie was born in Richmond to parents Betty Catherine May and David Kenneth May, and was the eldest of their four children. Having spent her early professional years in various biotech and sales roles, Julie became a mother to Nicola in the winter of 1996, followed by Ben in the heat of summer in 2000. She dedicated her love, time and energy to their care and will continue to be their guiding light.
Julie will be remembered fondly as someone who was highly generous, thoughtful, and kind. No request was ever too large, and she would always make time for those who needed her. Julie was a fighter, survivor, nurturer, and added her sparkle to the lives of those who loved her. She maintained a strong presence in her beloved community as a force for good across various charitable and political ventures, and, of course was a proud supporter of the Richmond Tigers!
Julie was loved and treasured by her family and friends, and will be missed terribly.
Thank you for adding a memory. It means a lot to comfort families and to keep the memory of Julie alive.

Dear Julie,
I am so grateful our paths crossed through golf. What began as learning the game together grew into a beautiful friendship, that I will always treasure.
You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Nicola and Ben,
Your loss is immeasurable and profound.
Please know that your dear Mum loved you infinitely, every minute of every day. She spoke of you with such emotion and love, and was incredibly proud of you.
Julie was an amazing friend to me, I’m forever grateful to have felt her light and love even if it was for nowhere near enough time…
Please accept my heartfelt condolences and also my wish that you can spread a little bit of Julie’s light throughout your lives.
With my best wishes and care, Robyn Meggs 💛🖤
The Syme Family were saddened to hear of Julie’s passing.
We have many memories of Julie, Nicola, and Ben camping particularly at Moyhu, in the King Valley.
Sadly we will not be able to attend the funeral as we are travelling just now.
Vale Julie….
Best wishes to Nicola and Ben!

Julie was always so caring and generous with her time helping Nicola and her friends in Scouts/Showtime.

Dear Friend We will always be indebted to Julie for helping us find our beautiful Border Collie Rosie - we always thought of Julie when we looked at Rosie. Thanks friend
I have fond memories of enjoying many a fine drop of Chardie with her as we enjoyed an evening swim at her pool and I will miss this next summer
Once she donned her Tigers Supporter's uniform, she became another person - a Jekkel and Hyde transformation! Poor umpires copped a verbal bashing if they gave the opposition a free kick!
You always put on a brave smile whilst enduring your many treatments and kept positive - an inspiration to all of those experiencing similar challenges
We will miss you Julie and we will continue to barrack for the Tigers whilst you are in Tiger's heaven
