Steven Hugh Robson Morris - the larger than life, joke cracking, John Howard impersonating, smart, strong, kind, seafaring, happy, funny, lavishly loving and very loud man of great integrity passed away peacefully after a 4 month fist fight with glioblastoma, aged 66.
All who knew him are bereft, the world is a little quieter and not nearly as bright without him. You are encouraged to help keep his story alive by sharing a memory or reflection on this page.
Steve was very much about keeping kids safe, so instead of flowers or the like, a donation in Steve's name to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation would be so much appreciated.
Thank you for adding a memory. It means a lot to comfort families and to keep the memory of Steve alive.

Steve and Di were wonderful neighbours when I lived in Hendra. I remember the Friday night I came home from work during a really bad storm. Had lived in the house for 24 years and for the first time ever water started coming into the house via the bathroom and laundry drains. I rang Di and even though they were putting on a rather important dinner party that night Steve took the time to come over to check if he could help. But nothing could be done and Steve very kindly invited me to join their party that night. I didn’t go but never forgot the kindness.

Darling Steve, you’re leaving many badly broken hearts behind and a large space to fill. Your generosity, wit and wisdom have made a difference in the world. Rest easy.

Steve was a beautiful friend to myself and our MOB crazy bunch. Working with Mother of Boys, he offered so much laughter and joy and cheeky fun to the committee. Steve always was a man who, if you had a good connection, he always had your back. And he brought out the best in people. He would be so missed and loved by everyone. And I know how much he loved Di and the girls in such a beautiful way. Steve leaves behind a space that will be missed with such beautiful memories. Lou Xx

Dear Steven,
I'll never forget calling the SLF Lawyers office for the first time and being introduced to you. My initial impression on the phone was "is this guy a lawyer?" but after ten minutes of chatting, I realised you were a very genuine and trustworthy person.
Soon after, we are organising a lunch catch-up at Jimmy's on the Mall, which became a regular occurrence. In 2017, I ventured into another business, after which a few years later, you called me saying, "Hey mate, I have gone out on my own and am only taking on a few close clients." My first thought was, "Oh no, I now need to find another lawyer after working with a good one!" Your next words, "Don't worry my little Italian, I will still look after you," put my mind at ease.
Finding out you weren't well after receiving your personal message and then having our chat a few weeks ago really hit me. You were an absolutely great man, and I will miss you dearly. We had organised a catch-up when we last spoke and texted, but not seeing you means my last impression will always be our last catch-up at Cafe 63 Ascot for a coffee.
You will be sadly missed, my friend.
Xx

A lot of changes of tide have happened in our lives since Kim & I left Brisbane some 24 years ago. We have always kept up with RQ news and fondly remember the fun times down the Bay with our families and at Board Meetings! And the occasional legal advice I sought and recieved. Rest peacefully Steve.
