Richard Terrence Townley-Jones, known to most as T-J, was born in Aldershot, Hampshire, UK, on February 9th 1950 to parents Kenneth and Beatrice. Richard was brother to Michael, Graham, Peter, Denise and Andrew, father to Mark, Robert, and Stephen, and Grandad to Brooke, Autumn, River, Alfie, Mia, Niamh and Tasha. His career included over a decade serving in the Australian and Royal Navy and 15 years in the Derbyshire Police Force. Throughout his life he called many places home including England, Scotland and Australia, which is where he spent his final years.

Don’t think there’s enough room on this page to share them all, some wouldn’t be safe to share. Many a good evening spent with you and our shady. A character you were definitely not the shy and reserved type of guy, but that was you. A true gentleman and a friend. Going to miss you our yearly gathering Rest easy my dear friend till we meet again xx

I enjoyed working with TJ at Chaddesden in the late 80s. He had a fruity turn of phrase which was always amusing. I particularly remember an armistice day parade we did together where we ended up rather the worse for wear. RIP my old mate. Condolences to all your family.
