Our favourite husband, father, son, brother, cousin, project manager, soccer coach, and friend sadly passed away on Boxing Day.
Matt knew that the end was approaching and went out in style, with 18 months chock-full of caravanning, travel, new boats, new cars, many new toys and plenty of time with his family and friends.
What better way to celebrate his life than with a casual outdoor gathering in his new hometown of Cedar Creek.
Please help us to keep his memory alive by contributing to this page your stories and photos. It will serve as a wonderful memento of the varied aspects of his life.
Thank you for adding a memory. It means a lot to comfort families and to keep the memory of Matt alive.

Matt was such a special part of my life — a constant presence and dear friend since primary school.
I’ll never forget our early 4WDing adventures, his patience with me, the kindness and fun Cam and Will showed my kids at Cedar Creek, and our coffee chats.
Matt meant more to me than words can truly express, and I will miss my wonderful friend every single day. The kindness, warmth, and memories he leaves behind will stay with me forever.
I am so deeply sorry for your loss and send my sincerest condolences. Please know I am holding you all close in my thoughts and sending you so much love and strength during this incredibly difficult time.
We are all so blessed to have known and loved Matt.

Matt and I met as two young blokes living across the road from each other with no idea that a lifelong friendship was just beginning. We were both lucky enough to have great girlfriends, each of us moving into our respective first new homes around the same time.
I was fortunate to witness many of Matt‘s early days as he grew into a wonderful husband Katie and an incredible father to two fine young boys, Cam and Will. I still remember them arriving from the hospital- large brand-new and already the centre of Matt‘s world.
Katy B and I enjoyed Matt and Katie’s company so much that after only a year without them we followed them out to Samford, proof that good friends are hard to leave behind and even harder to replace.
Matt always had a dry, quick wit and a cheeky infectious smile. Along with it, there was usually a text message popping up- sometimes comical, sometimes slightly warped and sometimes about the latest craze he had discovered. They always seemed to arrive at just the right time- usually good for a laugh and occasionally raising an eyebrow.
Matt was the guy who, if he could be there, he would every time. Whether you needed a hand, some advice or just to catch up with a mate he’d show up without hesitation.
To me and Katy B, Matt‘s legacy lives on in Katie and their boys, Cameron and Will. When we see them, we see Matt‘s love for adventure, fishing and sports, his kindness and friendship, his sense of humour, his intelligence and his Love- all passed onto the three of them and will continue to grow.
You will forever be in our memories and hearts, mate.

Fletch - I am just one of the many people who had the privilege of working with you. You were always generous with your knowledge, up for a laugh, and willing to make time for anyone, no matter how busy you were. Your influence on our transport network is undeniable; but the way you connected with everyone is even more remarkable. Your passion for your family and for life shone through everything. You will be deeply missed. Vale, Fletch.

Most families these days are small, so when someone is absent it leaves a big hole.
Matt ensured we had a lifetime of memories, stories and laughs, so he will always be with us. We just can’t see him.
Though far too early, it's not a surprise
We've had time to plan for our Matt's demise
He wouldn't want stuffy, formal or sad
A relaxed celebration is what's to be had
So come with your stories, both funny and kind
And help us keep Matt in the front of our minds
Dress comfortably and casually; no need for black or formal. We will be mostly outside (weather permitting). The venue will be all at ground level so no need to worry about ascending the stairs.
For your comfort, please bring a hat!
UPDATE: PLEASE CARPOOL IF POSSIBLE AND ARRIVE A LITTLE EARLY AND CONSIDER THE NEIGHBOURS WHEN PARKING.
